Is Artificial Turf Right for You? Pros & Cons

We believe in giving our customers impartial advice so you can make the best decision for your property.

The ProsThe Cons
Zero Mowing/Weeding: Reclaim your weekends.Higher Upfront Cost: More expensive than sod initially.
No More Mud: Perfect for kids and pets in rainy Surrey.Heat Retention: Can get warmer than grass in direct July sun.
Drought Proof: Stays green during Stage 3 restrictions. No “Natural” Growth: Does not provide the same biodiversity.
Pest Resistant: Say goodbye to chafer beetle damage.Requires Professional Install: Difficult to DIY correctly.

The Technical Essentials: What You Need to Know

A “cheap” turf job is easy to spot. At 365 Turf, we focus on the technical details that make your lawn look indistinguishable from natural grass.

1. Understanding Grain Direction

Artificial turf blades are manufactured with a slight “lean” or grain. To make your lawn look its best, the grain should always face the main viewing point (usually your back deck or the street).

Why it matters: If pieces are installed with grains facing different directions, your lawn will look like a patchwork quilt with different shades of green. We ensure every roll is aligned perfectly for a seamless, natural look.

2. The “15-Foot Standard” Width

Our premium 365 Turf comes in industrial-sized rolls that are 15 feet wide.

Planning your yard: To minimize seams (which are the weakest point of any install), we plan your layout based on this 15-foot width. If your yard is 16 feet wide, we don’t just “patch” an extra foot; we carefully seam a new 15-foot section to ensure structural integrity and a hidden finish.

Maintenance: Low Effort, High Reward

While 365 Turf is “low-maintenance,” it isn’t “zero-maintenance.” To keep your investment looking new for 20 years, we recommend:

Debris Removal: Keep organic matter like leaves and twigs off the surface to prevent weed seeds from sprouting in the infill.

The Occasional Rinse: If you have pets, a quick spray with the hose helps move liquids through the drainage system.

Professional Power Brushing: Over time, heavy foot traffic can flatten the blades. We recommend a professional power-grooming once a year to stand the blades back up and refresh the infill

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

“I was skeptical about artificial turf until the team from 365 turf showed up. I was impressed They used a Moasure digital device to measure  my backyard in 3D right in front of me—no messy tape measures or ‘guessing.’ The precision was incredible, we went with the  Pro Earthand it looks  is great. If you want a contractor that actually uses 21st-century tech, call these guys.”

Mark T., South Surrey

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

“My backyard was a total mud pit every spring, and my two Golden Retrievers were destroying my house. We went with the Pro Lite  and it’s been a life-changer. It’s so easy to clean, and the drainage is fantastic even with the heavy rain we get here in Langley. No more muddy paws and the yard looks perfect 365 days a year!”

Sarah L., Langley

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

“We had Hudson install the Pro Natural in our front yard and the neighbors haven’t stopped asking about it. It looks so realistic that people actually touch it to see if it’s real grass. The W-Ripple yarn has zero plastic shine. Professional, on time, and they left the site cleaner than they found it. Best investment we’ve made in our home.”
